      <image:title>About - Home-built. Family-tested.</image:title>
<image:caption>"It wasn’t invented in a garage -- more like our basement." PowDry was born out of my frustration that nothing comparable was available on the market to dry my family’s gear when we were on our ski trips. We needed to dry boots and gloves for a family of five and I really wanted the kids gear to be dry so they would have fun on the slopes the next day. Putting gloves and boots by, or on top of, the heater, near the fire or sticking a hair dryer inside was not going to cut it and would probably have melted more than a pair or two.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Tinkering and Patenting</image:title>
<image:caption>After a number of years tinkering with the design and size of the tubing and materials I got it to a point that it worked and it all packed up in my ski bag and duffle. I learned to use an anemometer and bought dozens of fans for testing. Then I was crazy enough to believe it could be patented -- which I knew very little about -- my career was in the healthcare industry. So, 3 years after filing a full patent and a lot of back and forth with the USPTO, I was granted a patent in 2020. There are more patents in the works.</image:caption>
